IMAGE TOOL
Image Resizer
Set a new width and height, or scale by percentage, and download the resized image. Processing happens on your device.
How to use the Image Resizer
Choose an image and its current size is filled in. Type a new width or height; with Keep aspect ratio on, the other value updates automatically so the picture is not stretched. You can also enter a percentage to scale both sides together. Choose Resize image, check the preview and download.
Examples and uses
- Shrink a 4000×3000 photo to 1200 px wide for a blog (height becomes 900 px).
- Scale an image to 50% to halve both dimensions.
Limitations and good to know
Width and height can be up to 8000 pixels each. Making an image larger cannot add detail, so enlarged images look soft. Metadata such as EXIF is removed, animated images are not supported, and transparency is replaced by white if you save as JPEG. Some older browsers cannot save WebP and will say so.
Frequently asked questions
Does resizing reduce quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp at the new size. Making it larger cannot create new detail.
Is my image uploaded?
No. It is resized locally in your browser.
How do I reduce file size instead?
Use the Image Compressor, which focuses on file size rather than dimensions.
